Welcome back to the Kinder Club blog! Each week we will focus on a letter of the alphabet and share fun stories, activities and tips to help you get ready to make the big leap into Kindergarten.

This week’s letter is Pp!

P is for penny, pig and pumpkin !

Can you trace the letter in the picture above with your finger? Can you write the letter on a piece of paper? Try writing the letter in uppercase and lowercase. Remember uppercase is BIG and lowercase is small.

If you have visited our Kinder Club blog for previous letters, you know that Mrs. K. usually shares a story, but today we have Miss Jill from HarperKids sharing a classic story with you today. Please enjoy one of our favorites, Harold and the Purple Crayon. (Click on the title to watch the story).

Can you remember some of the things that Harold drew with his crayon? What color was Harold’s crayon? Try drawing a few pictures at home with your crayons!

Mrs. K. went searching for things that start with the letter P. Look at the pictures below to see what she found. Now it’s your turn! What can you find that starts with the letter P? Can you think of any colors that start with P?

If you picked up a Letter of the Week packet at the library, have fun completing this week’s activities and stay tuned for next week’s letter.

Kindergarten Readiness Tip: P is for play! Play is how children learn. Play promotes the development of strong language and vocabulary skills. Play also supports creative thinking and problem-solving. Spend some time each day playing by yourself, with your friends and family.
