WPPL’s newest book club, focused on Environmentalism, met for the first time on Wednesday, January 8th. We discussed the fantastic book “Kiss the Ground” by Josh Tickell, whose main focus is on regenerative agriculture, and how what we plant and what we eat has a huge impact on the global climate.
Click here for a collection of resources curated by the Kiss the Ground author – I highly recommend exploring this page, it is chock-full of information and ways to get involved and make a positive impact on the health of our planet.
During our discussion, several participants brought up different local (and some national/international) farms & organizations practicing regenerative agriculture and contributing positively to the health of Northeast Ohio’s soil and people alike.
Below is a list of all the resources contributed during this meeting – take a look!
As our discussions continue, I plan to collect additional resources from patron and staff recommendations. If you have a recommendation you’d like to see featured in a future blog post, feel free to reach out! Better yet, give the Environmentalism Book Club a try!
Our next meeting is Wednesday, February 12, 7 – 8:30 p.m. We’ll be reading the novel “Playground“, by Richard Powers.
