“There’s More to the Story!” is the theme for 2023’s National Library Week. What better way to find out more about a story than to dig into the story with a book club? In a book club you can discuss you new favorite title with a bunch of people who read the same book as you did. This gives you an opportunity to let others know what you think and to hear what others think. Here at Porter Public Library we have several opportunities for you to join a book club.

True Crime Book Club

Join us for an exciting book club at Westlake Porter Public Library. The True Crime Book Club will meet on the third Monday of every other month at 1 p.m. starting in January. Delve into murder, robbery, heists, arson, and more of humanity’s darker instincts. Find more information in the event calendar. View or print the entire list of books here.

Tuesday Evening Book Club

This group meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in person and on Zoom simultaneously. Books are available at the Circulation Desk or through the digital library. New members are always welcome!

Wednesday Afternoon Book Club

Our Wednesday afternoon group meets the third Wednesday of every month at 2 pm. Books are available at the Circulation Desk and new members are always welcome! Find more information in the event calendar. View or print the entire list of books here.

Thursday Night Book Discussion

Join us on the second Thursday night of every odd month—January, March, May, July, September & November—at 7 pm. Due to the extended time frame, participants will need to obtain their own copies of each month’s title. Find more information in the event calendar. View or print the entire list here.

Cookbook Discussion

Nothing like a rousing cookbook discussion! Join us to share a recipe from a cookbook of your choice—each meeting focuses on a different cuisine. Pick a cookbook from our shelves, make one dish to be shared with a group of 10-12. Bring your dish and your book to the meeting and we’ll discuss and eat! Simple!
