Biographies bring its subject to life for the reader. Far from a day-to-day retelling of somebody’s life a biography is a story told in such way to read much like a novel. As we celebrate Black History Month, remembering in a particular way the contributions of Blacks in American history I wanted to draw attention to biographies in the Porter Public Library’s collection of Black Americans and those of African descent. All of these books and more can be found at Westlake Library.
