Welcome back to the Kinder Club blog! Each week we will focus on a letter of the alphabet and share fun stories, activities and tips to help you get ready to make the big leap into Kindergarten.

This week’s letter is Hh!

H is for hat, heart and horse!

Can you trace the letter in the picture above with your finger? Can you write the letter on a piece of paper? Try writing the letter in uppercase and lowercase. Remember uppercase is BIG and lowercase is small.

If you have visited our Kinder Club blog for previous letters, you know that Mrs. K. usually shares a story, but today we have Michael Hall sharing his story My Heart Is Like a Zoo. How cool is it that you get to see the author read his story? (Click on the title to watch the story).

Can you remember some of the animals that appeared in our story today? What shapes did you see in our story? Try making a few shape animals of your own at home with construction paper and glue.

Mrs. K. went searching for things that start with the letter H. Watch the video below to see what she found.

Now it’s your turn! What can you find that starts with the letter H? Can you think of any animals that start with H?

If you picked up a Letter of the Week packet at the library, have fun completing this week’s activities and stay tuned for next week’s letter.

Kindergarten Readiness Tip: H is for handwriting! Practice writing your name and some of the previous letters you’ve learned from Kinder Club. Make sure to practice writing your letters in both uppercase and lowercase form.
