I Promise written by LeBron James and illustrated by Nina Mata is an inspirational picture book for all ages. The book is based on the I Promise school created and run by the LeBron James Family Foundation. James is a two time Olympic gold medalist and has been named league MVP four times. He is a true home town hero and inspiration to all.
I Promise outlines steps to success for children and provides encouragement to reach success. The book stresses holding yourself accountable and to never give up. As we start our school year, take a moment and share this lovely picture book with your child.
You and your child can craft this inspirational cloud to admire and read throughout the year.
Materials
- One Piece of white construction paper
- Colorful strips of construction paper about (approximately 1″ wide and 6″ long)
- Markers (colors of your choice)
- Glitter
- Glue
- Scissors
Instructions
- Cut a large cloud shape from white construction paper (It can be any shape you like, be creative).
- Write different I Promise values listed in the book onto the strips of construction paper.
- Glue the strips to the bottom (on the back) of the cloud (as shown in the picture above).
- Write “I Promise” on the cloud
- Distribute glue around the edges of the cloud.
- Sprinkle glitter around the edges over the glue. Shake off excess glitter for reuse.
Congratulations! You have your own I Promise Cloud.
