Welcome back to the Kinder Club blog! Each week we will focus on a letter of the alphabet and share fun stories, activities and tips to help you get ready to make the big leap into Kindergarten.
This week’s letter is Bb!
B is for ball, bear and button !

Can you trace the letter in the picture above with your finger? Can you write the letter on a piece of paper? Try writing the letter in uppercase and lowercase. Remember uppercase is BIG and lowercase is small.
If you have visited our Kinder Club blog for previous letters, you know that Mrs. K. usually shares a story, but today we have one of our favorite friends, Pete the Cat sharing his four groovy buttons song with you! (Click on Pete’s name to listen to the song).
How many buttons were on his shirt at the beginning of the song? Can you button and unbutton your clothes? This is a big and helpful skill for your Kindergarten teachers.
Mrs. K. went on a letter hunt for things starting with the letter B. She took a picture to show you what she found. Can you name the items in the picture below? How many items can you find? What item did you like best?

If you picked up a Letter of the Week packet at the library, have fun completing this week’s activities and stay tuned for next week’s letter.
Kindergarten Readiness Tip: B is for Books! Do you know how to hold a book? Can you turn the pages? Use your finger to follow the words on the page. And be sure to read, read, read! “Reading aloud is the single most important thing a parent or caregiver can do to help a child prepare for reading and learning.” – U.S. Department of Education Commission On Reading
