Here are some sewing books and resources to get you started!

New to sewing? This book teaches you the basic parts of the machine and how they work, then guides you through 12 easy projects to build your skills.
Machine sewing : 25 quick & easy projects to build your skills by Debbie Grabler-Crozier
This is a great skill building book featuring 25 projects to practice your sewing. The book is broken down into several sections covering different aspects of sewing like fabric types, interfacings, and neat ways to finish your sewing like a pro!

Another fantastic resource is the CreativeBug BingePass, offered through our Hoopla Digital Service. Speak with one of our library staff and they’ll show you how to connect to dozens of sewing videos online, taught by professionals (like Cal Patch, a designer for Urban Outfitters).
