Old McDonald

Old MacDonald had a farm,
E-I-E-I-O.
And on his farm he had a horse,
E-I-E-I-O.
With a neigh, neigh here,
And a neigh, neigh there,
Here a neigh, there a neigh,
Everywhere a neigh, neigh,
Old MacDonald had a farm,
E-I-E-I-O.

Five Little Books (Count on fingers)

Five little books at the library!
Five little books, as fun as can be!
Along comes someone with a library card to take one home to read!
That someone was me!
Four little books… and so on

Affirmations: I am great (stretch out arms), I am smart (point to head), I am strong (flex biceps), I am loved (hug self). Today is an awesome day (fist pump and jump)!

Literacy Tip

If English is not your first language, speak to your child in the language you know best. This allows you to explain things more fluently so your child will learn more and will understand the concepts behind ideas.
