Welcome back to the Kinder Club blog! Each week we will focus on a letter of the alphabet and share fun stories, activities and tips to help reinforce a variety of kindergarten readiness skills.
This week’s letter is Dd!
D is for dad, dinosaur and dog!

Can you trace the letter in the picture above with your finger? Can you write the letter on a piece of paper? Try writing the letter in uppercase and lowercase. Remember uppercase is BIG and lowercase is small.
If you have visited our Kinder Club blog for previous letters, you know that Mrs. K. usually shares a story, but today we have one of our favorite musicians, Laurie Berkner, sharing her interactive dinosaur song with you! (Click on Laurie’s name to listen to the song). What did the dinosaurs do at the very end of the song? That’s right, they…ROARED! Can you give a loud roar? Now try a quiet roar.
Mrs. K. went on a letter hunt looking for letter D words. Look at the picture below to see what she found.

How many things did she find? Can you name them? How many things can you find? Did you find anything that you can eat? Can you think of any other animals that start with our letter? What was your favorite item that you found today?
If you picked up a Letter of the Week packet from the library, have fun completing this week’s activities and stay tuned for next week’s letter.
Kindergarten Readiness Tip: D is for dancing! Music and dance engage the brain, reinforce following directions, develop balance/coordination and allow for creativity and imagination! Spend some time dancing this week! Be sure to dance fast, slow and SILLY!
