Welcome back to the Kinder Club blog! Each week we will focus on a letter of the alphabet and share fun stories, activities and tips to help you get ready to make the big leap into Kindergarten.
This week’s letter is Zz!
Z is for zap, zipper and zoo!

Can you trace the letter in the picture above with your finger? Can you write the letter on a piece of paper? Try writing the letter in uppercase and lowercase. Remember uppercase is BIG and lowercase is small.
Click on the video below to hear Mrs. K. read a ZANY story about a moose, a ZEBRA and the alphabet! What animals did you see in our story? Which animal had a hard time waiting for his turn? Can you say the alphabet from beginning to end? Remember start with A and end with Z!
Mrs. K. went searching for things that start with the letter Z. What did she find? How many things can you find? Where did you look for your items? Did you look at the ZOO? How many of your items were real? How many of your items were pictures?
If you picked up a Letter of the Week packet from the library, have fun completing this week’s activities and stay tuned for our next letter. September packets are available tomorrow, August 25 for pick-up in the Youth Services Department. No registration needed.
Kindergarten Readiness Tip: Z is for zipper! Zippers can be found on our clothes, coats, shoes, backpacks and lunch bags. Practice zipping and unzipping your coat, backpack and other items this week!
