Welcome back to the Kinder Club blog! Each week we will focus on a letter of the alphabet and share fun stories, activities and tips to help you get ready to make the big leap into Kindergarten.
This week’s letter is Ii!
I is for ice cream, igloo and insect!

Can you trace the letter in the picture above with your finger? Can you write the letter on a piece of paper? Try writing the letter in uppercase and lowercase. Remember uppercase is BIG and lowercase is small.
I scream! You Scream! We all scream for…ICE CREAM! Click on the video below to listen to Mrs. K. read a cheerful story about Lou and his little ice cream truck . Today’s story has lots of rhyming words. Listen carefully and see if you can fill in the rhyme with Mrs. K.
Mrs. K. went on a letter hunt today and found several items that start with the letter I. How many items can you find? What shapes are some of your items? Did you find any ice cream? If so, what flavor did you find? What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
If you picked up a Letter of the Week packet at the beginning of the month, have fun completing this week’s activities. July packets are available tomorrow, June 30 for pick-up. If you haven’t already, please visit our Calendar of Events to register for your packet.
Kindergarten Readiness Tip: I is for information. Do you know your name, address and phone number? Practice reciting and writing this information this week.
