Happy National Library Week!
It feels awfully strange to be celebrating National Library Week when our physical library is closed. And yet there is a lot of great things that the library is able to provide when folks are being asked to stay home and distance themselves from others.
The use of our downloadable e-materials have skyrocketed. Services like Overdrive, Hoopla, Acorn TV, Freegal, and Lynda.com provide access to e-books, audio books, movies, TV shows, music, and continuing educations videos. Our online storytimes have gotten thousands of views as each weekday at 11 am we broadcast a new one.
What we are doing right now is not so much social distancing as physical distancing. It is vitally important that people continue to reach out and connect socially and stay engaged with the world around us. Right now the library is relying on our website and social media platforms to stay connected with library users but we are looking forward to getting the building open again and serving you, in person, soon. Until then, stay safe and healthy!
Sincerely,
Andrew Mangels, Director
